Channel Race for fast boats

  1. Starting line: Between Committee Vessel at the left end and the green buoy No. 103, situated south of the lighthouse.
  2. Gate between navigation buoys Nos. 123 and  124, (the third pair of buoys after the bridge).

3.  Red navigation buoy, situated at 0.2 n.m. southeast of  sailing club “Briz” piers (to be left to port).

4. Gate between navigation buoys Nos. 123 and  124.

5. Green navigation buoy No. 105 (to be left to port).

6. Inflattable mark opposite piers station No. 4 (to be left to startboard).

7. Green navigation buoy No. 103 (to be left to starboard).

8. Inflattable mark opposite piers station No. 4 (to be left to startboard).

9. Finishing line: Between a blue flag ashore at the north side of the Passenger Terminal Varna (left end) and inflattable mark, situated west of the flag (right end).

Time limit for sailng the course – 3 hours for all classes.

Course length – 8.05 n.m.

Race co-efficient: 1.2

APPENDIX 1B

 Channel Race for slow boats

  1. Starting line: Between Committee Vessel at the left end and the green buoy No. 103, situated south of the lighthouse.

Starting line: Between an orange flag on the Race Committee vessel at the right end and the windward side of an inflattable mark at the left end.

Finishing line – Between a blue flag on the Race Committee vessel at the right end and the windward side of inflattable mark 2 at the left end.

RACE on a triangular course

Time limit for all classes – 100 min.

Starting line: Between an orange flag on the Race Committee vessel at the right end and the windward side of an inflattable mark at the left end.

Finishing line – Between a blue flag on the Race Committee vessel at the left end and the windward side of an inflattable mark at the right end, near the mark shown in the table below as /finish/.

Remark: Mark 2 /43°12’28 – 027°56’54/ and Марк 3 /43°11’50 – 027°55’30/ are orange  metal buoys; mark 1 is an inflattable buoy layed according to  wind direction

Special regulations for inshore races

OSR 2017 – Appendix B – Inshore races

EQUIPMENT CHECK LIST Skipper Inspector
1 One strong bucket of at least 9 litres capacity with a lanyard
2 One compass (a hand-held is acceptable)
3 One fire extinguisher required if electrical system,

engine or stove on board

4 One anchor
5  A life buoy with a drogue
6 A heaving line, no less than 6 mm  diameter, 15 – 25 m  long, readily accessible to cockpit
7 A strong, sharp knife, sheathed and securely restrained shall be provided readily accessible from the deck or a cockpit.
8 Each crew member shall have:

A personal flotation device which shall: be equipped with a whistle; is clearly marked with yacht’s or wearer’s name; if inflatable, regularly checked for air retention. Unless otherwise specified by a boat’s applicable class rules or by sailing instructions, personal

flotation devices shall have at least 150N buoyancy,

arranged to securely suspend an unconscious man

face upwards at approximately 45 degrees to the water surface.

As skipper, I declare that today I checked the availability of all necessary safety equipment, listed above, and have instructed every crew member how to use his personal safety equipment.
